Eco-Pickups: Lace Alumitone

The good people at Lace, with the environment in mind, have introduced a new series of pickups- the Alumitone. I happened across the bass models in a MI industry magazine. Spec wise, it’s a current-driven system and employs two separate pickups for the high and low strings. No longer is there any need for the traditional “bucking” set up. As mentioned, the Alumitone series uses special construction techniques to ensure a minimal carbon footprint. Among these techniques is the use of 95-percent less copper wiring (wow) than most other standard designed pickups. Also, the fact that the exoskeleton is made of recyclable aluminum offers a faster attack and higher fidelity.
